RENTAL PROCESS

How Our Drone Hire Process Works

Step 1: Choose Your Equipment

Begin by selecting the rental equipment from the range of high-quality drones and accessories.

Step 2: Specify Rental Duration

After selecting your equipment, specify the rental duration. Our packages are available exclusively in full-week blocks, with the option to extend across multiple weeks.

Important: All rentals must be confirmed at least 96 working hours before the shipping date, including the submission and approval of necessary documents. Confirmation will be sent via email. For urgent needs, please contact our team on 0330 111 7177 to check availability.

Step 3: Submit Required Documentation

Before your rental can be dispatched, you need to upload and have the following documents approved at least 72 working hours prior using the rental document upload form link provided in your order confirmation email:

  • Drone Training Certification: All drone hire bookings from Coptrz require the hirer, or any individual operating the hired equipment, to hold either a valid CAA General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) or a Level 1 Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC-L1).
  • UK Drone Registration: You must label your operator ID (person or organisation) on every drone you are responsible for. Any operator flying the drone must have a valid flyer ID (via the CAA's drone registration website).
  • Insurance Policy: Valid policy covering the rental period.

Pay £99 Deposit (Refundable)

A £99 deposit is required for each drone rental, refundable upon the safe return of the equipment. Ensure all data is removed from the drone before returning it.

Receive Your Equipment

Your equipment will be shipped via next-day delivery, and we provide a collection service for returns. Delivery and collection fees will be added at checkout before booking confirmation.

Return Your Equipment

Repackage all rental equipment by 9am on the return day for DPD courier collection from the agreed location. If there are any changes, contact us as soon as possible.

Please remove all data from controllers, memory cards, internal storage, and logs before returning the equipment.

For any questions or additional information, please contact our team. We are here to ensure you have the best rental experience.

Delivery & Collection Costs

Any rental costs are without delivery and collection costs. A fixed £44 charge will be added at checkout to cover the total cost of delivery and collection of your hire equipment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does the lens support zooming? How to focus during operation?

Zooming is not currently supported. Initial waypoint auto focus and calibrated infinity focus can be used when in Route mode. Manual focus is required when in Manual mode.

What is the Low-noise High-sensitivity mode of the P1?

The Low-noise and high-sensitivity mode of the P1 can improve camera sensitivity (ISO) while reducing noise levels, which expands the range of operatable scenarios for P1.

How does Smart Oblique Capture work?

The feature allows photos to be taken at multiple angles during a flight by way of payload control. All the ortho- and oblique photos necessary for 3D reconstruction can be acquired through one flight path. Only photos essential to reconstruction will be taken at the edge of the flight area, minimising the number of images taken and significantly increasing the efficiency of post-processing. As each flight area corresponds to a different flight path section, which requires a distinct oblique capture strategy, all the photos taken for each flight path section will be based on the target data collection zones demarcated by the user’s measurement area. During a Smart Oblique Capture operation, the aircraft will fly in the mode with the highest operational efficiency. The flying speed will also be adjusted according to the different oblique capture sequence for each flight path section, to maximize the efficiency of the operation. Currently, the function is only supported by Zenmuse P1 as mounted on the M300 RTK. To use the function, enable it in aerial photography settings for flight path navigation on the DJI Pilot app.

Can Smart Oblique Capture ensure the photos will cover the edge of the flight area?

The photos taken in Smart Oblique Capture mode are based on the measurement area designated by the user. They will be taken at five different angles covering the area and its edge.

Why are images not taken at turning points in Smart Oblique Capture?

As the camera’s shooting angle can be affected by the aircraft’s flight position at turning points, Smart Oblique Capture has been added with a buffer zone feature, so that no photos will be taken at turning points. This ensures each image is captured at an accurate tilt angle.

Which operating modes support the terrain-following flight path function?

The terrain-following flight path function is supported by the aerial photography mode, but not the oblique photography, corridor mapping flight, or Smart Oblique Capture modes.
